The name 'Am Tuat' finds its origin in ancient Egypt, where the book of the dead or 'Am Duat' was a part of their culture.
In this book they described how your spirit would pass on to the afterlife, and what you should do to make sure that you entered the realm of the dead.
This name was chosen because it does not reveal the musical contents of Am Tuat, and thus invites you to listen to the music with an open mind.

The musical style of Am Tuat is best described as 'progressive metal'.
The blending of many different musical backgrounds of each member makes the music dynamic, interesting and distinctive.
Lyrics surpass items as religion, politics and human feelings.

Since the line-up in 2003, our musical style has continuously developed.
Having played on festivals and concerts with bands like Within Temptation, After Forever, Turisas, Sinister, Officium Triste and many others shows that Am Tuat can be booked for any occasion.

After some demo's with lot's of great response it is now time to come with something bigger. The writing for our fist full length album is almost finished and the recordings are scheduled for april 2008.
Our producer will be Frank Klein Douwel. We visited his studio and feel confident that he is capable to create the sound we want. Frank is best known from his work with bands like Asphyx, Born From Pain, The Monolith Deathcult, Earth Crisis, Altar. But also: Fairport Convention, Van Katoen, The Apers and Maggy Reilly.
We have never felt so focussed and motivated and are looking forward to work with him.
This new album will have a killer production and will probably have a length of more then 1 hour, including our 18 minute song 'A cry..... the sound of a tragedy'. Labels with interest can contact Arno.
